Warsong is the only game in a hit series known as Langrisser in Japan, which was marketed in Europe. Just for that, Warsong is regarded almost as a cult game, which you can now download for free.

The nature of Warsong as a game that's difficult to define, clearly moving in the waters of strategy, but also drinking the precepts of RPG role. Warsong is a game of military strategy and is a game system similar to Fire Emblem series.

In Warsong you control not a soldier, but a group of soldiers elevated to the status of heroes (divided into several classes) with different military missions to accomplish. The control of the action takes place in Warsong through schematic drawings, in most cases of top-down perspective, and you're quickly put in the context of classic strategy games.

What makes Warsong like a role play, is the experience of each hero after every battle won, then ascending to a more powerful class. Interesting!
